Dr Fiona Shedden

Dr Fiona Shedden has over 10 years’ experience working as a psychologist in the UK providing psychological treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Fiona has a strong interest in supporting the development of emotion regulation skills, recognising their importance as a foundation for navigating life’s challenges. In her work with children, Fiona is particularly skilled at collaborating with parents and caregivers, where appropriate, to support positive change both within and beyond the therapy room.

Fiona has extensive experience working with difficulties such as anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, trauma, developmental trauma, depression, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, anger, personality issues, behavioural issues, and life transitions. She also has experience working with people experiencing Intellectual Disability and neurodivergent conditions, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), adapting therapeutic interventions and helping to shape environments, to better support each individual’s needs, strengths, and wellbeing. Additionally, she has experience conducting ADHD assessments with children and young people.

Known for her warm, thoughtful, and down-to-earth approach, Fiona is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. Fiona understands that reaching out for support can feel like a big step. She prioritises building trust and connection from the very first session, working at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering for each client. Her goal is to help clients develop practical skills, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Fiona currently holds provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is registered to work in the UK as a Clinical Psychologist. She is eligible to offer psychological services in Australia.
